WHAT Coaching IS …
… and what it is not
Coaching is a collaborative process that creates space to think, reflect, and take purposeful action.
People come to coaching for many reasons. You may be facing an important decision, navigating change or uncertainty, finding yourself stuck, or wanting to approach a situation differently.
Rather than providing answers or telling you what to do, my role is to help you explore what is happening, consider different perspectives, clarify what matters to you, and identify a way forward that works for you.
Our work is shaped around your goals and circumstances. It may involve exploring patterns of thinking or behavior, working through competing priorities, preparing for a difficult conversation, considering options, or translating insight into action.
COACHING IS NOT THERAPY
Coaching and therapy can sometimes look similar. Both may involve reflection, emotions, relationships, patterns of thinking and behavior, and conversations about change. However, they differ in their scope, purpose, and the professional role of the practitioner.

Some clients work with both a coach and a therapist, with each supporting different needs and goals. Where a client's needs fall outside the scope of coaching, I will discuss this with them and, where appropriate, recommend seeking support from a suitably qualified professional for specialized support.

WHAT TO EXPECT
I’m a professional coach with academic training in psychology, which informs how I understand behavior and the factors that may help or hinder change. Where relevant to your goals, this may bring areas such as motivation, values, personal strengths, meaning, and purpose into our work.
Our work together is:
Goal- and change-oriented:
It supports your personal and professional development, relationships, decision-making, and ability to navigate change.
Highly practical:
Insight is valuable, but understanding alone does not always create change. I work with you to translate understanding into purposeful action that moves you towards what matters to you.
I bring curiosity and empathy to your situation and goals. At times I'll ask questions that challenge your thinking or invite you to look at something different, in service of your goals and your area of development. Where helpful, I also integrate assessments and evidence-informed tools to deepen insight and support learning.
